BoonDocker is a standalone Windows Mobile Smartphone-GPS tracking
software application designed by Image Peak Systems.
BoonDocker
is designed for
the Outdoor Enthusiast where USGS Topographic maps are the standard.
BoonDocker requires:
- ChartTiff Enhanced Digital Graphical Data Sets.
- A Windows Mobile Smartphone with Bluetooth & Memory Card capability.
- The SmartPhone's Internal Hardware
GPS (if available) or an external Bluetooth GPS like a
Garmin 10
or 10x.

ChartTiff BoonDocker
map data is available
for the entire USA. USGS NED (National Elevation Data) is also included
for selected area coverage for offline elevation
requirements. The map data sets may contain any combination of ChartTiff data and can span multiple storage cards.
Users are allowed to start up BoonDocker with
or without the GPS. Users work On-Line where maps move below the
current GPS position or work Off-Line where users can pan throughout the map data set.

The Map Type and Scale dialog allows users to select the map type and
scale to be displayed.
The user can select 24K Topos, 100K Topos, 250K Topos and Aerial Photos.
The map data sets may contain any combination of ChartTiff data and can span multiple storage cards. Only map types that are available in the current
data set are selectable. The data set may contain up to 512 quads of
each map type.
Map Scaling is preformed by utilizing the
system's BLT stretching capability.
The Map Type and Scale can also be selected utilizing the Pre-Defined
Accelerator Keys.
- "Q" Up and "A" Down Map Type Accelerator Keys
- "W" Up and "S" Down Map Scale Accelerator Keys

Tracs are an On-Line only capability that allow
users to leave a trail of where they have been.
Users are allowed up to 6
simultaneous Tracs.
Currently generated Tracs can be Paused and Continued
allowing users to generate a Sub-Tracs.
Users can select various
Tracs Options such as the interval, color and width.
Tracs can be saved, reloaded and
deleted.

Routes
can be generated both On-Line and Off-Line. On-Line Routes
allow users to leave a route of where they have been. Off-Line Routes
allow users to generate a planned route by utilizing the stylus. Users are allowed up
to 6 simultaneous Routes.
Routes
points (symbols) are generated at a user
specified intervals. Currently generated On-Line Routes
can be Paused and
Continued allowing users to generate a Sub-Routes.
Users can select various Route Options such as the
interval, color, width and to display labels.In addition to Routes
being
saved, reloaded and deleted, Routes
can be edited. Users are allowed to
add / edit labels and descriptions at Routes
points, and are also allowed to
add / delete / move Routes
points.
Users can also Plot an Elevation Profile of a displayed
Route.

WayPoints
are individual symbols with associated attributes generated at specific points that can be generated both On-Line and
Off-Line.
On-Line WayPoints can be placed by the user by simply pressing
the specified Accelerator key at the current GPS location or anywhere on the
current map screen by utilizing the stylus.
Off-Line WayPoints can be
placed anywhere on the current map screen by utilizing the stylus.
BoonDocker
supplies a WayPoint Symbol Library of over 125 unique symbols.
In addition
to adding individual WayPoints, WayPoints can be edited, deleted, moved and
located.
Individual WayPoints have various attributes; a automatic or user defined label,
a short comment and a long description.
Optional attributes include; a
Windows Mobile Note and description, a picture set and description taken from
the internal camera and a URL / HTML File link and description.

sets can be saved, reloaded and deleted. |

There are two ways within BoonDocker to locate a point.
Locator Mode allows the user to simply input a
Latitude / Longitude location to locate.
WayPoint
Locate allows the user to select a WayPoint from the currently loaded
WayPoint set to locate.
Once the locate mode is enabled a locator arrow
will be displayed on the screen and point to the location of the point.
Once within the area of the point the locator arrow will be removed and the
phone will beep.

Inter BoonDocker Location Reporting allows BoonDocker to be
configured to broadcast and receive Location Reporting SMS Messages between
BoonDocker Smart phones.
BoonDocker can broadcast and receive Locating Reporting messages
between a maximum of 6 different BoonDocker Users. The broadcasted
messages are turned into Waypoints on the receiving Smart phone.
Users can broadcast at various selectable intervals. As new messages
are received the Waypoint's location and time are updated on the receiving Smart
phone. Users can send an additional Text Message to the Inter BoonDocker Location Report message. The text message is added to the Recipients Waypoint's
Description field.Users must be within cell tower range to send and receive SMS messages.

BoonDocker allows for the Importing of Geocaching ".loc" and ".gpx"
files and conversion to WayPoints.
Geocaching files are obtained from the
Geocaching.com web site, The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site. Files
can be placed either in the phone memory or the storage card for importing.
Once imported the WayPoints will have the Geocach symbol assigned, and the geocaching
label and description from the file. The ".gpx" imported files will also
include a BoonDocker generated ".html" file that will include all the
geocaching notes. The file can be view by displaying the link option in
the Edit WayPoint dialog.
Once imported new WayPoints can then be saved as
a set. |

Text Messages can be sent
directly from BoonDocker when within range of
cell towers. The includes the GPS location. The format of
the GPS location is determined by
current Display Unit option. The user is allowed to
customize various Text Messaging Options.
The user can input a number or retrieve a number from a
set of up to 6 that the user can predefine.
The user can input a new unique message or select one of
3 difference pre-defined messages. The user can edit the

available with BoonDocker. The full Help
utility is available from the Main Menu. Each
BoonDocker function dialog can launch specific
function Help by clicking the ? button at the bottom
of each dialog. |
